Welcome, and thanks for visiting our site! HIV/AIDS has been a part of our world for well over thirty years now, but the AIDS Crisis is far from over, especially in Florida. Your participation in events such as the Florida AIDS Walk and Music Festival has never been more vital to the cause than it is today! This year, the Florida AIDS Walk and Music Festival will take place on March 20th at South Beach Park along the Fort Lauderdale Beach, and is committed to achieving three major goals:
Raising funds that support HIV/AIDS services for our friends and neighbors throughout Florida.
Reminding our community that the HIV/AIDS crisis is still in full-effect – both globally and right here in South Florida – and increasing our community’s awareness, education, prevention efforts and pursuit of treatment, all with the goal of reducing the spread of HIV.
Treating our participants to a magical day of music, food and friends at the beach, reinforcing for us that we are united together in the war against HIVAIDS, and motivating us to support and fight for one another in this battle throughout the year.
Join us on the beach for food trucks, tents in the sand and a concert performance by none other than recording sensation Flo Rida – all there to thank you, our Walkers and Sponsors for your commitment and support. We want for YOU to be a part of the fun!
By the end of 2014, it is estimated that more than 132,000 of our fellow Floridians were living with HIV/AIDS - which ranked Florida the third highest State in the nation in that category. Despite medical breakthroughs in HIV treatment, the number of new HIV cases in Florida continues to climb year over year, and increased more than 23% in 2015. With your help, the Florida AIDS Walk and Music Festival generates financial support through pledges and donations to provide the care and services that these people so desperately need; as well as to implement testing and education to prevent the likelihood of new infections in the future. All of the money we raise stays right here in Florida, and does incredible things like buy mobile HIV testing vans, fund free HIV testing, create HIV awareness and prevention education programs, and provide free or low-cost medical care for HIV positive people in need! Join us and make a real difference to those who need you!
